AUDITION FOR THE SF YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS FESTIVAL 2007
The San Francisco Young Playwrights Foundation is looking for spirited
actors to get in the act and be a part of the 2nd annual San Francisco
Young Playwrights Festival. Audition for one of the 20+ roles available.
Actors of all ages, ethnicities, and experience are welcome.
THE FESTIVAL
The show will receive a weekend run from May 18-20, 2007 at City College
of San Francisco’s Diego Rivera Theater. This production is non-Equity, no
pay.

The winning plays are:
THE METHOD OF BEING A VELOCIRAPTOR by Romolo Wilkinson (SF School of the
Arts)
Directed by Deborah Shaw
Alexandrov Stanislavksi, an eccentric drama instructor and the less famous
brother of renowned theater artist Konstantin Stanislavski, teaches his
class of young hopefuls the mysterious and complex art of stage acting.
Channeling a variety of sources, including some prehistoric influences,
Stanislavski imparts valuable skills to his students, with rather insane
fervor. (5M, 6W)
SAINT by Juliana Caccavo (Balboa High)
Directed by Sara Staley
Tamora shares her memories of spending time in a psychiatric institution
with another girl, Katherine. An introspective look into adolescent
character. (1W – Puerto Rican, 2W – any race)
THE REAL REASON BEHIND MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCES by Nina Moog
(Lick-Wilmerding High)
Directed by Alan Quismorio
Like all other teenaged girls, Sophie is sick and tired of her parents’
constant interference in her life. But the discovery of some mysterious
things underneath her bed may provide a most unexpected solution to her
problem. (2W, 6M)
MAMA by Tanea Lunsford (SF School of the Arts)
Directed by TBA
Four women at a poker game share about their lives, celebrations, and
struggles. When an unexpected crisis invades their circle, will the bonds
of womanhood and maternal instinct be able to hold them together? (4W –
African-American, 1M – African-American)
