Children's Entertainment Company Looking For New Performer!

A Santa Cruz based children’s entertainment company, http://www.happilyeverlaughterparties.com is on the search for a new performer! This is the perfect way to add some sparkle to your life (and extra cash) while only working 1-2 days per week! You can live anywhere in the Bay Area, as the position requires travel to several different cities. If you have an eye for costume and make-up design, and a knack for making children laugh, this may be your dream come true!

Unlike most children’s entertainment providers, we do not use wigs or franchised characters. We like to remind children what can happen if you just let your imagination run wild, instead of just copying the television/movie characters. Each costume is hand-made by the head Faerie (Fae) and truly unique.

Job Description;

Attend events around the Bay Area as a whimsical character (Mermaid, Faerie, Princess etc) and perform a simple magic show, twist colorful balloons, paint faces, make puppets come alive, and many other fun activities! Each performance is only an hour and a half and your compensation will be $80.00 (plus tips!)...and sometimes more (sometimes parties are longer in which case you are compensated $30 per extra 1/2 hr. Also, if you party is more than 1 hour from your home, you are compensated $30 per extra hour of driving, roundtrip). As you gain experience, you may have the option to attend 3-4 parties a weekend!

Full Faerie training will be provided to the right applicant. The training will consist of 3-4 sessions of 2-3 hours in Santa Cruz. Your compensation will begin after your initial training (these are skills you get to keep for a lifetime) with your first tag-a-long (where you get to see a real live Faerie perform!). With proper practice, you could begin performing by the end of April! Again, the training will take place at the Tree House headquarters in Santa Cruz, CA...the schedule is quite flexible. After each training session, you will be required to rehearse on your own time to prepare for a final performance for me (the head Faerie). If you have too much on your plate (full time student+extra job+slaying dragons in the evenings), you should not apply for this job. It takes a lot of time to become a true Faerie, but the reward is immense. Once trained, the job doesn't take much time at all. Just 1.5 hours per party!

You must have your own, reliable vehicle, as you may have to travel up to 1 hour away (depending on where you live) for the event. Most shows are in San Jose or San Francisco. You also MUST be punctual. Being on time (and even early) is more important than anything else. If this is a problem for you, do not apply. I ask that you are available 3 weekends a month, with one weekend off (if you want, you can work 4 weekends). Anytime off must be requested at least one month in advance.

Applicants are strongly recommended to have experience with theater, young children, music, glitter, and working independently.

W. KAMAU BELL'S SOLO PERFORMANCE CLASS

ABOUT THE CLASS:
Started in 2005, this 8 session course (over ten weeks) is designed to develop 15-20 minute professional level solo theater pieces using a variety of writing and performance techniques. Each student will create a unique and personal performance piece that will culminate in a public theater performance at the end of the course. The class is recommended for performers of all disciplines, including actors, writers, comedians, spoken word artists, musicians and dancers. People of all levels of experience are welcome, from those who have never been on stage before to those preparing a piece for a professional production or audition.

ABOUT W. KAMAU BELL:
W. Kamau Bell has been a Bay Area comedian, writer, and director for more than ten years. Kamau is a favorite at Cobbs Comedy Club, The Punch Line, The Porchlight Storytelling Series, and is half of Siskel & Negro on Live 105. Kamau has appeared at The Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, on Comedy Centrals Premium Blend, and Byron Allens Comics Unleashed. Also he is featured in The Soft Skull Press publication What Would Bill Hicks Say? Kamau has been profiled in The San Francisco Chronicle on three separate occasions, including not ironically during Black History Month. Kamau is currently hard at work performing his debut solo show, "The W. Kamau Bell Curve: Ending Racism in About an Hour". The SF Guardian declared, "W. Kamau Bell plays against type and comes with not only the insights you wish you had spewed first but also the wit.." The SF Weekly called him smart, stylish, and very much in the mold of politically outspoken comedians like Dave Chappelle and Margaret Cho, although he was more excited that they called him handsome. CASTING: film shoot, WED MARCH 19TH

We're looking for young actors for a forthcoming film shoot, WED MARCH 19TH in SF. (more info on the project below)

Two time slots: 7:30AM-10:00AM (Golden Gate Park), and NOON-2:30PM (UCSF).

Actors will be portraying patients (at UCSF) and troubled teens (at Golden Gate Park). Each actor will receive screen credit and a $25 cash honorarium for their participation.

About this film: directed by an award-winning, veteran filmmaker, this film charts the difficulties at-risk youth face in our current health care system. Underscored by the Institute of Medicine and the National Academy of Sciences, this film serves as a supplement to a groundbreaking study conducted by both organizations; along with the study, this film aims to make a significant difference as to where health care investments are placed for our nation's youth.

I'm making a film, that will be somewhat explicit in parts. Also, there will be imagery that needs nudity.
I am afraid that I will not be able to cut the content of the movie script, even if I find actors interested .You can e-mail me with rates, photos, questions, etc. If your an actor or actress who has worked in nudity and/or sexual situations, is comfortable with it, and would like to take on a feature narrative film as a major role please e-mail me or show up to the auditions. The two main roles are the ones that require it but there are others. If you would like to be featured in sequences that do not involve the main characters, but are part of dreamlike imagery you can either show up to the audition, or e-mail me with link to your work. I have a new movie called "Aberrant Behavior" auditioning Sat. 1/19 3:30-6:3- at the Dark Room SF 2263 Mission off of 19th and Mission@ 3:30 - 6:30. (My first movie "the period" came out through Sub Rosa Cinema can be seen/bought at Netflix www.myspace.com/theperiodmovie, as well as various other outlets)
Aberrant Behavior, is basically about two self destructive anarchistic-y street kids who have an exaggerated form of pica, a disorder where people feel compelled to eat non-food materials, carpet, dirt, soap, drano, various chemicals, etc. as portrayed as a drug addiction. There's more to it, but that's the basic synopsis. If you can't make it to the auditions, you can send me a head shot with resume, or whatever you want. We can then decide when and where to meet.

I will be hiring for many roles, all ages (over 18) races, sizes, etc. But here are the main characters:
Main Characters:
Victor Muertos: (Mid to late twenties) Half Mexican/Half white (Half latino/half white will probably work). Black hair, down to chin and five o clock shadow. (Flexible though). Tall and thin but not too thin.
Dark, brooding, depressed, prone to long winded sarcastic, cynical rants. Living off the state for mental depression, and addiction, but eventually breaks himself from the state. He hates the state, and normal life in general. He hates almost everything. He is sort of sloppy hipster, slightly emo, slight slight slight goth meets street kid. Light or no body mod, piercings, etc. He eventually lives on the street because of choice.He falls in love with Aiko.

Aiko Zumbi (18-early twenties or look like it) Half Japanese/Half German (or Japanese, or half Japanese/Half white). Shorter than Victor, thin but still slightly curvy.
Street kid with a bit of dark hippie. Has been sexually abused as a child. Prone to violence. Prone to long winded rants, or sometimes just total silence. Dark, cynical, with a very bleak view of life. Body mods, tattoo's, piercings, fine. Dreaded or colored hair fine as well. Actually preffered.
She falls in love with Victor.

Emma May (20's to 30's) Actress must be thin, because character is anorexic. Very fake, superficial, manic laughing. Very self deluded. She doesn't really see her anorexia as a problem, she think she looks great though she's obviously dieing and goes to extremes to keep herself thin. She is always dressed up elegantly and thinks of herself as a proper lady even when doing something grotesque . She is a head executive at a advertising/pr firm that she gets a Victor a brief job at, through meeting him in a class over there mutual addictions. (Brief Nudity /Partial a few times)

Caseworker Joe (30's-40's) Written has hispanic, but open. Larger guy, tall, built like a shed, a bit fat but not flabby fat. Very coarse, to the point, direct "Take no shit" kind of guy. Very normal, buys into the whole big house in the suburbs, good job, etc. He is Victor's Caseworker, and is tired of Victor's Shit, and believes he is not trying to quit. (None)

Glitters- a gay gangster rapper, take everything that's a cliche and horrible about it and flip it so that it's gay (some, will also need male models)

Pedida Muertos-Victors Mother. A nearly catatonic morally apprehensive drug addict who's always sleeping with random guys and ignoring her child (Some nudity/sexual situations can be negotiated to less)

And then random visuals, nudes for some flashback scenes (of some sort of psuedo porn the main characer shot) a girl that Victor sleeps with before he falls in love with Zumbi (requires brief nudity/sexuality) and some body part imagery that will not feature the face of the actor/actress, among other thing

Cherie (F) -- 18-25 a night club chanteuse (a singer - ability to hold a tune important, but doesn't have to be a 'great' singer), pretty, fragile, grew up too fast. She wears too much makeup, and is from the Ozarks. She has a southern accent. *** All actresses interested in auditioning for Cherie, please prepare a short song to sing A cappella. You may be asked to sing this song at auditions or callbacks.

Grace Hoyland (F) - 30-45, Runs the diner. Her husband deserted her years ago and she's finally come to terms with life. She's wise and motherly, but can be a bit of a flirt if the right man is around.

Bo Decker (M) - 20-30, ranch owner, attractive, cowboy, brash, impulsive, naïve, child-like, innocent and simple.

Virgil Blessing (M) 40's-50's, ranch hand, good-hearted simple cowboy, like a father to Bo, laid back, plays guitar a bit.

Will Masters (M) 40-mid 50's, Sheriff, big, stern, means business but friendly.

Dr. Gerald Lyman (M) 50+, glasses, graying, alcoholic, divorced 3 times, former professor, an intellectual pedophile struggling with his inner demons.

The American performer Nita Little will be the special guest of our association, first time in Italy as guest artist, for giving the project “Restless Peace”. The intensive workshop with Nita Little is in the calendar of our Residential Projects 2008, and will be from April 25 to May 2, 2008 in the beautiful Etruscan city of Orvieto, in middle Italy.

After the end of the workshop, on May 3rd and 4th, the association will plan also two days with the International Springfest Jam.

The intensive workshop and the Jam will be held both at the headquarters of the cultural Association Caravajal15 residenza dinamica, in the prestigious sixteenth century rooms of the Palazzo Caravajal-Simoncelli, in Orvieto.

Restless Peace
The urge to move, to go where we have never been, is the soul of our practice in this workshop.
Developing a "home base", a place of personal and creative safety is as important as the journey; how wonderful to be free when you have a home! We learn, how like nomads, we may carry our home with us, even as we track paths in and out of unfamiliar territory.
We focus on developing the mental, emotional, and physical skills that enable dancers to travel creatively. Utilizing a full dance vocabulary, we integrate gestured movement improvisation with contact improvisation and build the skills to consciously weave these two forms.

We investigate “states” of mind / “states” of body as a means to develop and direct creative work in our improvisations. Developing the ability to describe and craft subtle levels of action and experience, we boost our physical potential while increasing our readability. Moving in solo, duet and group forms, we gain compositional tools for structural orientation; like torches, they light the way.

This workshop is developed for experienced movers who wish to pass beyond the threshold of old patterns. The restless human drive that takes us out of comfort, urges us to meet the unfamiliar, to move into, through and with the unknown, is a dance artist’s call. Here, we harness that drive and discover how, moving at the speed of our restless calling, we can find peace.

This class culminates in a creative work for performance at the workshop and at Zipfest08.

Things we will do:
Go deep into the physical philosophy behind contact improvisation.
Learn underlying CI principles that manifest as pathways of action.
Build the tools for safe physical and creative relationships
Discover different spatial orientations: vertical/hierarchical and horizontal/diffuse.
Learn about our temporal orientation and develop tools that modulate time.
Develop the skills to be able to move freely between states of mind.
Deepen our agreements to open to life, to the dance.
Honor peace.

about Nita Little

Nita Little has been developing, choreographing, performing and teaching improvisational dance for the past thirty-six years, notably Contact Improvisation, which she helped evolve from its inception with Steve Paxton, Nancy Stark Smith and others.
She collaborated in numerous performing companies introducing Contact Improvisation throughout the United States. She is a master teacher with former students all over the world, who are themselves now master dancers and teachers: Gretchen Spiro, Andrew Harwood, Frey Faust, Scott Wells, Julie Oak, Peter Bingham to name just a few. Through CI she discovered her abiding interest in the evolution of consciousness and the mind body relationship. Since 1981 she has been developing an evolving curriculum called The Mind in Motion, which explores the range of experiential states along the mind-body continuum and reveals principles that define Contact Improvisation as well as other movement forms. This work is informed by her investigation of the mind through work such as hypnotherapy and NeuroLinguistic Programming.

As a performing artist her current work is a mix of both formal and improvisational choreography and scores. While anchored in process, it frequently explores character, story, and concept.

Nita received a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in choreography and was on the California Arts Council Touring Program.
The latter award was to her solo dance company, NITA LITTLE DANCE THEATRE, which she began in 1984, continued through 1990, and reinstated as a pickup company in 2000. In 2002 Nita created Playing God, an hour-long dance opera that received funding through the Dance USA /National Endowment for the Arts.

Over the years Nita has been both faculty and guest artist at numerous colleges and universities including New York University, California Institute for the Arts, Texas Christian University, Temple University, Tufts University, Scripps College and UC Santa Barbara.

Nita teaches and performs yearly at national and international dance festivals including ImPulsTanz, Vienna, The Side Step Festival, Helsinki, Kontakt Budapest International Improvisation Festival, the International Contact Festival Freiburg, Germany,the Seattle Festival of Alternative Dance and Improvisation and the West Coast Contact Improvisation Festival, Berkeley California.
She also teaches locally and nationally throughout the year. She lives with her son in Santa Cruz Mountains in California.

As she has pioneered a path in the understanding of the mind/body/spirit relationship, Nita's mission, conscious evolution, has been the backbone of her passion and her practice. Her goal is to see, feel and reveal grace in all its forms and as it exists in the actions of the mind and the body.

The Marsh is a non-profit theater located in San Francisco on Valencia st. We are small and are working towards beginning a network online to help bring in new talent and new patrons. We've been around for 18 years and are a breeding ground for new performance. Focusing on solo performance, but also branching out to others, we pride ourselves on being a place for performers to come and have an opportunity to display their work in front of audiences.

This slapstick play, with murderous aunts compassionately serving up elderberry wine to elderly gentlemen, their overwrought nephew attempting to save them from the electric chair, their eccentric brother who thinks he is Teddy Roosevelt and the "special" activities of an unwelcome guest—is a hysterical romp with something for everyone. A marvelous example of exaggeration, double-takes, general befuddlement and macabre farce.

We are happy to announce that Simone Forti will be again the guest artist of our residence, for giving her intensive residential workshop “Logomotion Writing Workshop”.

Logomotion Writing Workshop
Sometimes our words don't have access to what we know in our bones.
In this workshop we will be improvising moving and speaking, and we will be writing.
While our writing will stimulate our imagination and support our improvisations, our improvisations will enrich our writing with a kinesthetic timing to phrasing and windows on sudden thoughts and memories.
Our activities will include studio sessions of improvisational moving and speaking, spontaneous writing, walks in town, with partners, for conversations about matters large and small, and private times to write and to craft our writings and to read them to each other.
We will borrow from the writing practice of Natalie Goldberg as found in her books “Writing Down the Bones” and “Wild Mind”, discovering the associations that gather spontaneously around a chosen point of departure.
As our movement work will include many activities in partners and in groups, some of our writing will include more than one voice, focusing on the relationships between the thoughts of different people.
A goal will be to write with wild mind and intention, and with awareness of world.

Jennifer Dunning writes in her 1991 New York Times review: “Simone Forti presented her first dance program in 1960 and has since then had a steadily increasing influence on post-modernist choreographers interested in exploring ‘natural’ or non-formalist movement and dance”.

AUDITIONS - La Legion Fantastique!

Bonjour,

We are holding auditions for actors for La Legion Fantastique! This is a new volunteer attraction in the children's area at this year's Dickens Christmas Fair (www.dickensfair.com). We need fun, charismatic actors with a love for Victorian science fiction (mostly Jules Verne) to populate our environment...interact with audience members, and have a great time being eccentric characters! This is an unpaid, but VERY FUN, show.

HISTORICAL CHARACTERS

Jules Verne - Yes! We are looking for someone to play the chronicler of these amazing adventures. The person we are looking for should match his appearance, and have a relatively thorough knowledge of Verne's works/life...or be able to take a crash course in it. Our Verne would perform readings, and interact with the "real life" personae from his books.

BOOK CHARACTERS
THEME: “ Around The World In 80 Days”

CASTING CALL: MALE ACTOR NEEDED FOR SHORT FILM

I will be directing a 15 minute short film titled "Soft Kiss of the Assassin". It is an homage to the Italian thrillers of the 60's and 70's.

The first sequence to be shot will be in an antique shop sometime before September 19th. The shop is located in San Francisco.

I'm looking for an actor to play the role of Ambrose, a man in his late 30's who works for an abusive boss and has trouble standing up for himself.

Unfortunately this film is zero budget. All I can realistically afford is food and a copy of the film on DVD when completed which, believe me, I know is not much at all.

Independent film group in need of actors for short project

We are a small group of amateur independent film makers in need of a few actors. There are absolutely no prospects for either fame or fortune, and it must be admitted that we are working off rather more enthusiasm than experience.

Assuming that preamble hasn't scared you off, here's some of the
details:

Name: Touch
Length: Approx 10 minutes
Genre: Drama/Romantic Comedy
Synopsis: Touch is the story of a man (named Zack) who is
uncomfortable with physical contact. The more intimate the contact,
the harder it is for him to deal with. This predictably complicates
matters when he becomes interested in Irene.

We are in need of three male actors (the female roles have been cast), all who can play early-mid twenties. Filming would take place on September weekends in San Francisco.

We're shooting a nunsploitation flick in a mansion (circa 1860) with a nefarious past in San Jose, Ca in July. It's low-budget but this is a PAYING GIG.

Casting Call for Extras

Kelp Entertainment’s production of “The Smiling Man” is looking for extras. We are a very small independent group funding our movie out-of-pocket, and are shooting it on digital video in San Francisco.

We need a large number of people of any age, race or sex to fill out the backgrounds of a few key exterior scenes shot around the city. We will be shooting at various times of day, both weekdays and weekends, so no matter when you are available, odds are good we can use you. No one who can meet our criteria will be refused.

The catch: the movie is set in the late 1940s. All applicants must be able to provide their own reasonably authentic period clothing, and women must be able to do their own hair and makeup. Men must have appropriately short hair, and be willing to slick it back with pomade (available on request) or equivalent.

The only compensation we can offer is screen credit and a copy of the finished DVD, which should be available in the early part of next year. This is a great chance to get some exposure, break out those swing clothes that have been languishing in the back of the closet and have some fun!

Dance-Theater Performers Needed

Krista DeNio and Ryan Eggensperger are casting one female actor, one male actor, and two female actor-dancers for Sally: MIA, a dance-theater cyber-odyssey concerning the first fully automated female phone operator. Performances will be February 8-10, following a winter residency at CounterPULSE (SF). Sally: MIA will be created through collaboration between performers, director and playwright. Authentic or credible southern accents preferred, though by no means required.

Auditions in Berkeley later this month, and shooting/rehearsals should take a few days next month. Exact dates are TBD.

Shot in HD with festival ambitions (our previous work has had its share of festival exposure), with an experienced crew that have logged many hours together and are still great friends and create an easygoing atmosphere on set. We're really seeking folks who are looking to make something of quality, and are interested in being involved in the long term success of the project, rather than just another notch on their proverbial bedpost/pistol.

The role we are casting is for an older Chinese bartender, fiercely street smart, with a sarcastic sense of humor. Must be able to speak English reasonably well, though accent is OK.

Shooting will last a few hours in a single day in August, at a local bar. Rehearsal schedule will be very flexible.

Compensation is meager: Screen credit, 2 copies of finished DVD, and as much exposure as we can make happen for everyone concerned. Could be an ideal chance for a local community theater actor to show his chops!

I really want to get started in acting again, but all of the theaters in this area seem to require a headshot, lots of experience, acting classes, and so on. I just want to be able to go and audition. Any idea how I can get started in the Bay Area acting scene?

Also, does anyone know how to start getting work as a movie extra?

the alloy project is now holding auditions for FUSE, a multimedia play that will be featured in this year's San Francisco Fringe Festival. We need four men and three women in their twenties/thirties. Actors' race/cultural background is unimportant, but they should be able to play biracial/multiracial characters.

Berkeley Rep Acting School--feedback?

Hi all,

I'm considering taking an acting class at the Berkeley Rep this fall, and I'm wondering if anyone has taken any there or has any feedback regarding the school.

Some concerns that I had: someone I talked to said that since its still a pretty young school (3yrs or so) that it tends to be disorganized, and students less motivated. Also that 2 hrs/class is not adequate time.

Denis is the last in a long line of intelligent wolves living unnoticed
in woods north of Paris. But when he is bitten by a werewolf he wakes on
the day of the next full moon to find that he has become human.

Denis decides to go into Paris, where he encounters the Dilettantes of
the Ramobolitan Chub, fish liberation fighters, a prostitute and her
pimps and a motorbike cop. How will he survive the world of men?

Directed by John Rackham

This is John Rackham’s fourth outing to the San Francisco Fringe with
his British company Rogues’ Yarn. Previously they brought an adaptation
of Joseph Conrad’s /Heart of Darkness’/ and two sketch comedy shows.
This year brings a new departure for the company, their interpretation
Boris Vian’s short story /Le Loup Garou./

Boris Vian, engineer, pataphysician, novelist, playwright and jazz
trumpeter became infamous in France when a murder in his book J’irai
Cracher Sur Vos Tombes (I Will Spit on Your Graves) was copied in
reality and the book left open by the body of the victim. Vian was tried
for vicarious murder. Intellectuals including Jean Paul Sartre collected
money to pay the massive fine.

John Rackham translated Le Loup Garou some years ago, and then last year
began work on adapting it for the stage.

THE WEREWOLF Denis (cast) intelligent vegetarian wolf, turned into a
human by a bite from: Etienne Pample - conjuror known as the Mage of
Siam and a werewolf.

Lisette Cachou (cast) - waitress at the Gronelli restaurant. Is with the
Mage when he bites Denis, sympathetic to Denis' problems.

Casting Buffy the Vampire Slayer's "Once More With Feeling"

ICAN Productions is staging Buffy the Vampire Slayer's "Once More With Feeling" musical and we are in need of Giles and Spike.

Giles should be an older man in his mid 40s to 50s, with a British accent and good singer. Race not a factor but you must look like you can fight vampires and keep up with the kids.

Spike should be in his 30s to early 40s and a cross between a goth, rocker, biker. Must have British accent. Singing a must and so is posing. Also, race not a factor.

This live musical is a reproduction of the episode "Once More With Feeling" that aired in the sixth season of Buffy, where the entire cast found themselves singing and dancing while revealing their inner most secrets. Our production includes a live band and will take place in SOMA between Oct. 20th through the 23rd, and again on Oct. 30th, the night before Halloween. With the exception of opening night there will be two performances each night at 7:30 and 9:30. This is a paying gig an includes a cast and crew of 17.

Acting classes sought in trade for massage therapy services

Hi. I am looking for a qualified, patient & insightful acting teacher to study in their classes with, in trade for ongoing massage therapy services, in the San Franciso Bay area.

Currently I live in El Cerrito, though im looking for somewhere to rent in Marin within the near future.
My interest practically is more in acting for film. Some people seem to feel more than others that acting for fillm or theater is significantly different enough to warrent a distinction.
My acting eduction / experience is minimal. Two semesters of classes in high school (1986-87), a short (1x week for 4 weeks) acting for film class in Eugene, Oregon 2001, and began a basic acting class at Napa Valley College in Fall 2004 which i was unable to complete to do moving farther away during semester.
I would really love to get involved again, and more deeply, into acting with a compatible instructor & class.

Well, the time has finally come, I am finally finished with my script and am now looking to get a cast and crew on board.

I am going to be directing a comedy about the cultural and social impact of cell phones on society through three main characters.

For now I am looking for the three main characters a bunch of smart people willing to take some risks in helping me direct this feature. For now, I plan on submitting this piece to Film Festivals around the Bay Area after its completion. Compensation will be a film credit and a copy of the film for your Reel.

Mall Security, Top Guard between 30 and 40, always on the lookout for unsuspecting thief’s and slip-ups on his time. Everyone is presumed guilty until proven innocent.

#3: Melvin “Black Hawk Down” Jangles

Mall Security, Point Man. Between the ages of 30 and 40, working his way up the ladder of Crisis Management, where everyone gets left behind.

This Piece takes place at few locations in a Mall Setting. A Parking Lot, Book Store, Coffee Shop, and Movie Theater.

know from past experience that this is a unique opportunity to build a
bridge between my company of artists and the Japanese Americans who were
affected by the tragic events following the signing of Executive Order 9066.

Here are the details and money info below.
(Total project fee for is $2450 and you get to travel to Utah!!!!)

- Rehearsals would start ASAP – like next week – and run about 3 per
week for 4 or 5 weeks. (4 hours per rehearsal) They would be scheduled
around your availability. They will either be at the Marsh in SF of at my
house in Oakland.

- The first set of shows is in Topaz, Utah on the weekend of June
11th. We would fly out on wedneday and come back Sunday. We would do two
shows – one of them at a High School and the other at the actual internment
camp site with an audience of people who were in the camp (wow!) Air
travel and lodging is included and you would each be paid $250 for the
weekend.

- We are also negotiating a contract with Julia Morgan center to do this
same show as a part of their arts in schools program. For this, there would
be 4 shows during the summer, 8-10 shows in the fall and 8-10 shows in the
spring. you would each be payed $100 for each show.

- The summer shows will be 2 daytime shows on June 22 or 23 and 2
daytime shows on the week of June 27-July 1. The fall and spring shows would
be during the school day (morning or afternoon,) but could be scheduled
around our availability.

So the deal is, I’m casting a brand-new reality show on engaged couples. It’s for a major network (sorry, can’t specify which of the 4 it is) on the prime-time schedule for next season. 4/16 casting call for film lead role, male 30s or 40s, ideally black or latino

We’re preparing to shoot a feature film in San Francisco in June of this year for which we still need two actors. It's a new translation of Jean Genet's 'The Maids' that's going to have an all-male cast (as Genet once said he originally intended—the characters are all women.) The writing's fabulous and we've got a great team put together.

We need one man in his thirties or forties (ethnicity is not important, but we’re hoping to find a person of color).

The auditions will be held at 2:00PM this Saturday the 16th of April at 574 Natoma Street (which is in SF between Mission and Howard and between 7th and 6th Streets, closer to 7th). Actors should bring with them a résumé and head shot if they have them. To get a copy of the scene we’ll have you read from, e-mail me deWally@LMi.net.

Regrettably, it's a first-time-out venture with no funding so we can't offer to pay. What we can offer is on-screen credit, meals during the shoot and a video copy of the finished film. And because this will be the first new translation of this well known work by Genet in over fifty years, because it will be the first-ever translation for an American audience, and because it will be the first-ever film version to use an all-male cast, we expect the film to attract attention and get fairly wide festival screening.
